The festive season is around the corner and that’s good news for all of us, but unfortunately crime and grime don’t go on holiday, in fact they really mean business in our Inner City Streets, especially at this time of year.
Main Marshall Improvement District (MMID), Urban Space Management (USM) and Johannesburg Inner City Partnership (JICP) have joined hands to deploy 25 urban rangers previously employed via the JICP’s WozaWork Programme to patrol and clean streets in the MMID area, which is located in the vicinity of the ABSA campus. The project runs from the end of November 2023 until the end of January 2024.
MMID is funding the salaries and statutory contributions. USM is responsible for the day to day management of the 25 participants and JICP is providing uniforms and equipment from the remaining WozaWork budget and managing the payroll as a contribution to the partnership.
