Open Studios Joburg 28 & 29 May

Open Studios Joburg will highlight seven art buildings, across the historical CBD and beyond, where visitors will be invited to meet the artists, interact with the works, and enjoy a programme of exhibitions, walkabouts, performance and design.

The sites are August House, Bag Factory Artists’ Studios, Ellis House, Living Artists Emporium,
LAPA at Breezeblock, Transwerke Studios and Victoria Yards.

Open Studios Joburg will take place over two days, Saturday 28 May and Sunday 29 May,
2022 with selected studios being open on these two different days. The studios will be linked via
a free shuttle service that will allow visitors to safely explore the city. Three shuttles will move in a
loop between the buildings, with transport available every 15 minutes. Access to all events is
FREE, but visitors must register on Saturday 28 May or Sunday 29 May for their free tickets.
The tickets permit shuttle access.

The official after-party on Sunday 29 May from 15h00-21h00 will take place at a hidden magical gem of a venue that is usually not open to the public. With cool DJ’s, food and drink on offer, it offers an opportunity for Open Studios Joburg to officially wind down. Tickets will be sold at the door for R130 or book online and get a discount.
